Camping Near Rye

We doubt there are many places that can boast so much individuality in such a relatively small space as the many towns and districts which make up the county of Kent. There is just so much history here and so much personality to be found close to our campsites that we struggle to know which destination to recommend first. That said, we don’t think there are many better examples than the town of Rye.

It’s actually found just outside of Kent in East Sussex, but considering just how immensely charming it is and how much it has to offer, we still consider it an ideal place for a day out. Lathe Barn Camping near Rye, takes around half an hour to get there. The town may be small but you’ll soon be amazed by just how big an experience you’ll enjoy.

We suppose the best place to start would be with the history, which has forged such an enchanting place to visit. Don’t worry, there’s no need for a lengthy history lesson from us. All you need to truly appreciate the centuries which have created this unique place is just to take a wonder round. Check out the likes of Ypres Tower Museum at Rye Castle, walk down the medieval cobbles of Mermaid street, visit historic sites like the literary inspiration Lamb House or the many other architectural gems like its historic churches and cathedrals.

You can, of course, learn more about this town through its heritage centre. In fact, we invite you to do so, as it’s a deeply interesting way of further appreciating the splendour that surrounds you. When camping near Rye, you’re close by to somewhere that has never forgotten its history, and wears it proudly. That’s just one of the reasons why this is one of our favourite places.

If you still want to retain that feeling of being one with nature, then camping near Rye has plenty of delightful surprises closeby to its cobbled street. The likes of the absolutely awe-inspiring Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and the immense sand dunes of Camber Sands are within distance of a singular day trip. As people passionate about nature here at Fallow Fields, we cannot express just how highly these two amazing spaces are recommended by us. Each one is capable of making memories that can last a lifetime.

Really, that’s what’s truly amazing about camping near Rye. You can look at so many individual examples of sights and experiences that on their own would be worth the drive, but together, they make for a truly unmissable day out.
