About the farm

Selson Farm sits in a gentle valley on the eastern edge of the North Downs in Kent. You’re surrounded by apple, pear and cherry orchards, there’s also asparagus fields a plenty. The camping field itself is a good 4 acres, completely flat, and lined with trees for shelter.

David (an ex-army Major) runs the farm which was bought by his Grandfather in the 1920’s who became a renowned English fruit grower. With a spread of crops there is something being harvested most of the summer. In May you can pick fresh asparagus, and there’s early apples in August. All of the produce is sold locally, either at the farm gate or in farm shops and greengrocers, pears and apples also end up in the big supermarkets.

On the Campsite

We are a family focused campsite with lots to keep the kids busy so we have happy parents, but we welcome couples and groups too. Our Retreat Tent has lots of board games, colouring in and outdoor games; including a fab table tennis table. We have a family cinema night on a Saturday and Wednesday in school holidays, yoga for kids and adults, and Bushcraft classes on Saturdays.

We have a camp shop selling lots of camping basics, fresh local meat, bread and other produce. We have a catering  unit that will sells a variety of food at the weekend, see our what’s on page for more information.

We love a campfire, theres nothing better than sitting around toasting marshmallows and watching the sun down while tending the fire! We have firepits for hire at £6 a night and sell logs and kindling on site. We advise you to prebook a firepit when booking your pitch.

Getting out and about

If you fancy heading off the farm, just a short walk from the campsite gate & through farm land leads you to public footpaths that disappear across the fields in the direction of Ash or Woodnesborough. You don’t need to travel much further afield to take in the best of what the local area has to offer:

Sandwich; 2 miles away, about 10 mins in a car – a perfect place to mooch. A beautiful medieval town on the river Stour that yes, made ‘the sandwich’ popular.
