Walks

Based on a fruit farm, near the seaside town of Sandwich, there are lots of lovely walks in the countryside, in woodlands or along the coast. Here are some ideas and check out our instagram for more family and dog friendly walks nearby:

Miller Woodland Trust – Situated directly opposite the entrance to Selson Farm with a wealth of wildlife and a great place to walk the dog!

Sandwich Bay – There is an admission charge for cars (free to walkers or bikes) – however it is dog friendly and a lovely spot for a picnic. You can access by foot along the rivers from Sandwich town which is also a lovely walk. If you fancy a walk with a pub or a bite to eat at the end; you can walk from the Bay into Sandwich town where The George and Dragon has a great reputation, or The Hop and Huffkin, and the French ‘No Name Deli’, or if you fancy a good pizza there’s Luigis on the quay.

Betteshanger Park – 250 acres of walking trails through woodland, past lakes and views to Sandwich.

Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens – 10 acres of open parkland and lakes, great for families and dogs welcome.

Deal Seafront – A short drive from us, with plenty of parking in the town centre. There’s a promenade with bars and restaurants that stretches from the 1/4 mile long pier along the pebble beach to Walmer Castle, which is also a lovely day out and free if you have English Heritage membership.

The White Cliffs – walk along the iconic landscape with views to France. Wheelchair friendly with a viewing point and dog friendly with a tea room to enjoy at the end.
