Walks

Based on a fruit farm, near the seaside town of Sandwich, there are lots of lovely walks in the countryside, in woodlands or along the coast. Here are some ideas and check out our instagram for more family and dog friendly walks nearby:

Miller Woodland Trust – Situated directly opposite the entrance to Selson Farm with a wealth of wildlife and a great place to walk the dog!

Sandwich Bay – There is an admission charge for cars (free to walkers or bikes) – however it is dog friendly and a lovely spot for a picnic. You can access by foot along the rivers from Sandwich town which is also a lovely walk.

Betteshanger Park – 250 acres of walking trails through woodland, past lakes and views to Sandwich.

Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens – 10 acres of open parkland and lakes, great for families and dogs welcome.

Deal Seafront – A promenade with bars and restaurants that stretches from the 1/4 mile long pier along the pebble beach to Walmer Castle.

The White Cliffs – walk along the iconic landscape with views to France. Wheelchair friendly with a viewing point and dog friendly with a tea room to enjoy at the end.

For more ideas we recommend checking out John Harris’ website Walking England with lots of up to date routes and maps free to download and print.
