The Fallow Fields Team

Social distancing

We have 6 acres in total at Selson farm. This year we will have a pre-assigned pitch system in place so that we can guarantee space between pitches and you can relax by your tent in peace and safety. We will endeavour to keep groups next to each other, but social distancing within groups will be enforced as per the current guidelines.

Guidelines have changed to restrict social gatherings of up to 6 people (of any age) with social distancing in place. This means we cannot allow groups larger than this to sit around as a group or campfire together.

At check-in, the shop & showers & toilets we will have queuing systems in place.

We have added additional mobile showers and toilets to the campsite to help with social distancing when we are fully booked (These additional units will not be opened when we have lower numbers on site). All units will have 2 deep cleans a day from a professional cleaning company, with regular wipe downs of touch-points throughout the day.

In the camp shop we will be accepting card transactions only – no cash will be accepted. From the 24th of July, in line with government guidance you must wear a face mask when inside the camp shop.

Our Kids Retreat tent will not be available this year, but we will endeavour to have some safe activities in place for kids and families.

We ask all our campers to respect each other and adhere to these guidelines set by the government for everyone’s safety & peace of mind. Anyone not following these guidelines will be asked to leave.

Groups are welcome and we will keep groups camping on pitches next to each other, including glamping and BYO pitch types so long as we have been advised on the booking.

As always groups are asked to respect our other campers and keep noise to a minimum after 10.30pm.

Groups will need to respect social distancing within them and with other families, keeping apart as per the current government guidelines.

If you have made a booking on behalf of others, please ensure they are aware of these guidelines. Anyone not adhering to these guidelines will be asked to leave.

Hygiene measures

We take pride in ensuring high levels of hygiene on site at all times, in particular in the showers and toilets and other communal areas.

With the additional concern of COVID-19 we will be carrying out a additional measures in all our communal areas and placing hand sanitiser stations around the campsite. Our staff will increase the frequency of cleaning our public areas (including shops, door handles, bathrooms, etc.) continuing the use of high-grade disinfectants and sanitisers.

We also ask all campers to wipe down touch-points before and after use of facilities.

Bell tents

Our bell tents are already placed at 10m gaps around our main camping field and we will allocate tent pitches 6-8m distance from them and each other.

We are enforcing a 24 hour period between bookings of furnished bell tents, as scientific evidence suggests the virus does not remain on surfaces after 24 hours. We will carry out a deep clean between bookings as normal, and use disinfectant on all hard surfaces.

All furnished bell tents will have the additional measure of an anti-bacterial fogger used in them between hires. This will kill 99.99% of germs and stays active on surfaces for up to 30 days.

For the health and safety of all our staff and customers, soft furnishings in the bell tents will be kept to a minimum and therefore we are unable to provide duvets & bedding this year. All furnished bell tents will automatically receive a £15 BYO bedding discount on booking to compensate for this.

Food and drinks

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness and scientific advice suggests it is unlikely that you can catch coronavirus from food or packaging. It is not known to be transmitted by exposure to food or food packaging.

Pizza will be available on Friday evening and Chicken/ Pulled pork and sides on a Saturday evening. All orders must be pre-booked through the website.

We are unable to offer breakfasts this year.

We and our suppliers will however continue to ensure high hygiene standards in the shop and food prep areas on site.

Our normal activities are subject to change based on government guidance; We will be offering bush craft sessions for a maximum of 10 people on a Saturday. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer yoga this year.

There will be no kids cinema this year as we cannot allow large numbers of children to gather together inside a tent.

We will work to ensure all our campers have the best experience possible and keep everyone updated of all activities available prior to arrival.

What should I do if I feel ill during my stay?

If you experience any symptoms of coronavirus during your stay, (including a new, continuous cough, high temperature, or loss, or change in your normal sense of taste and smell) please leave the campsite and return home as soon as you practically can, ensuring you don’t come in to contact with others. Please leave a message on the site telephone so they are aware of your early departure or email

Once you have arrived home, you should contact the NHS to arrange a test and continue to follow government guidance on self-isolation and social distancing.

Please note, for public health and safety, your contact information may be shared with NHS Test and Trace if this situation arises.

What happens if Fallow Fields cannot open?

In the unlikely event Government advice changes and we are closed at the time of your booking, your deposit payment will be held on your customer record for re-booking until the end of 2021.

These measures form part of our T&Cs during this time and we reserve the right to update them in accordance with government guidelines. If you are concerned about how these measures will affect your booking please contact us on or call 0800 035 0002.
